I originally created this arrangement of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah for a series of live-streamed concerts I performed weekly from April through December 2020 called Resilience. Given the challenges during that time of working with a live pianist, I recorded the piano part myself as a playback track, to which I performed. In fact I enjoyed this process of “playing with myself” so much that I made piano tracks for many other works during this time. My daughter Katia created the cover art for the single which was released in the fall of 2020.
