This work was inspired by and dedicated to my friend Ron Garan, who, as an astronaut, has logged more than 175 days in space, many of which were spent on the International Space Station. While I have never experienced the “Overview Effect” first hand, in this work, I’ve attempted to create a sonic experience which could transport listeners to a place of awe and mental clarity.
