A Life In The Day (with Jacob Marshall)
(2019) violin, piano, string quartet, double bass | 9 min
A Life In A Day was premiered at Carnegie Weill Hall in collaboration with musicians from the NY Philharmonic and the UN Chamber Music Society. The work (which I co-wrote with Jacob Marshall of MAE) explores the ways in which we perceive time - moments of extreme emotional and mental clarity where we are able to see our entire life in a short moment. At times the music moves at an almost glacial pace as if our perception of time has slowed to the point where we are able to envelop ourselves fully in each second.
